#TradSongTues 8th January - New Beginnings Songs
This is a series of posts about the #TradSongTues project, run by various people at the University of Sheffield. Every week I've been recording a song for the theme, sharing it and talking about it. Come and play on Twitter!

A hard week to find a song, but there was a lot of people suggesting the Wild Rover. I was going to sing the one that was collected in Sussex, but then I managed to find a version in the Australian song book I used for Bird Songs in October that I'd never heard before so I sang that.
This was collected from a Joe Cashmere. Apparently he was one of the few people who could accompany himself while singing - most of the people that were collected from in that book were apparently unable to play an instrument, or couldn't play and sing at the same time.
